Artificial Patination of Zinc

DSII Graduate
This research focuses on developing a method that produces an artificial patina layer on zinc. The goal is to enhance paint adhesion and corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanized products with the artificial patina.

This layer is produced by a processing method utilizing supercritical carbon dioxide. The artificial patina is similar to naturally occurring patina but it can be produced much more rapidly and has a unique nanowire surface structure
