Motivation of this research came from practical managerial challenges in the industry. New technologies are seen the base for competitiveness and enabler for step change, but systematic ways to evaluate the effects of technology exploitation in whole product life cycle do not exist.

The aim is to develop early phase evaluation method of value and costs of technology in manufacturing industry to support technology investment and utilization plans.
