Power Management of Mobile Work Machines

The operation points of the components have a crucial role for the fuel economy of mobile work machines. Therefore, the independent control of the actuators and engine with modular power management architecture provides potential for energy saving.

The control architecture allows integrating a control strategy of the minimized rotational speed of the engine with power constraints. Simulations and measurements with typical work cycles indicate that this approach produces up to 20 % saving in fuel consumption compared with the traditional approach.
